Book Now - Chifley Cave

Variety and surprises! As you move deeper, this ancient cave reveals its unique beauty – huge caverns, narrow passages, an unexpected wealth of history, fossils and calcite crystal in every form, from the surprising richness of the ‘Lucinda Chamber’ to the bizarre ‘Wall of Noses’.

Your journey starts from the ‘Woolshed’ with its strange, ‘fluffy’ crystal. Then we lead you up to the ‘Margarita Chamber’ - with its wealth of unique stories to tell. We guide you through the ‘Madonna Chamber’, then you plunge into the sudden beauty of the ‘Lucinda Chamber’, with its huge formations, delicate straws and colourful shawls.

Go deeper, past the fantastical ‘Dragon’s Head’ into the huge ‘Lower Katies’, a fascinating chamber, subject of many years of scientific study. Ascend to ‘Upper Katies’, home of tiny, eyeless troglobites, and where the roof is thickly hung with crystal shawls.

Finally, as you descend a narrow cutting, look up, to see a grotto overflowing with perfect spar crystal. This cave is an outstanding experience for all ages.

Although children under age 4 are free of charge, please remember to book a ticket for them.

If you are driving all the way to Jenolan, you might want to consider booking accommodation, for a getaway to remember.
